LOCATION: Office location could be in the Jefferson Lewis BOCES (Watertown campus), Jefferson Lewis BOCES (Glenfield campus) or Oneida Herkimer Madison BOCES campus (New Hartford campus).
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Under the direction of the lead Family and Community Agency Professional Development Specialists, provide regional training and technical assistance on issues related to services for students with disabilities including NYS special education regulation, building community partnerships and increasing family engagement within the educational setting. All training will be made available to all stakeholders including families of children with disabilities, as well as community members and staff of public-school districts P-12, approved private day and residential schools, Special Act schools, State-supported, and State-operated schools.
Identify and maintain regional resource information for community partners that serve children/students with disabilities and their families, birth-5 or 5-21.
Seek out and cultivate new relationships with community partners who support children/students with disabilities, as well as strengthen and build upon already established relationships.
Work professionally and collaboratively with the Central Regional Partnership Center, SEQA associates, university Technical Assistance Partnerships (TAPs) to carry out the regional work plan.
Participate in Professional Development activities including statewide-wide meetings, monthly webinars, online learning opportunities, and monthly regional meetings.
Provide training data and other requested information to the TAP for Data and NYSED/ Office of Special Education in the time frame and format established by the Office of Special Education.
