RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: The Instructional Coordinator for PES provides vital instructional leadership, curriculum support, and
operational oversight for all Programs for Exceptional Students. This role is designed to drive professional
development, ensure instructional excellence through coaching and TEACCH support, and coordinate critical
state and regional reporting. Additionally, depending on the candidate's certification status, this role may include
direct supervisory and evaluative responsibilities for specific regional programs.


• Provide comprehensive curriculum support across all PES programs to ensure alignment with state standards and student needs.
• Serve as an Instructional Coach, providing specialized TEACCH support to staff to enhance classroom structure and student outcomes.
• Oversee Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certifications and lead the NCI Review Committee to ensure safety and compliance.
• Coordinate and facilitate Related Services (RS) Round Table Meetings in collaboration with designated leadership.
• Assist leadership in planning and executing regular PES Staff Meetings.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of regional CSE Chairs Meetings.
• Collaborate on the development and presentation of Supervisor Meetings and related Professional Development.
• Lead the collection of data and completion of critical annual reports, including: Annual Professional Development Plan, Civil Rights Report, BOCES Report Card data, and Alternative High School Equivalency Preparation Program (AHSEP) application.
• Assist in the research, development, and implementation of the Long-range Professional Development Plan for the PES department.
The following duties are contingent upon the candidate holding a valid New York State Administrative Certification (e.g., SBL, SDL, or SAS).
• Conduct unannounced instructional observations for designated PES staff.
• Provide direct supervision and administrative oversight for both center-based and district-based classroom sites.

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Small Engine Maintenance Instructor to teach a short course focused on preparing small engines for winter/spring storage. This course is designed for homeowners, hobbyists, and seasonal equipment users who want to prolong the life of their small engines by learning best practices for off-season care. 

              Some duties include:        

  • Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons
  • Demonstrate proper maintenance and safety technique
  • Provide students with checklists, maintenance schedules, and winter prep guides
  • Answer questions and support diverse learning styles
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and interactive learning environment
  • Be willing to offer the course in the fall & spring

LOCATION: Initial assignment in a Component District or Center-based classroom in Jefferson or Lewis County

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $19.50 Commensurate with experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the CSEA. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Assist teacher with classroom duties-correcting of papers, maintaining files, preparing reports
• Assists in physical care tasks and health-related activities as appropriate
• Supervises students – accompanying to mainstream classroom settings, lunch, bus duties
• Assists students with behavioral management needs
• Assists with classroom set-up, clean-up, and organization
• Other duties as directed by classroom teacher

$19.50 per hour
