RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Schedules/teaches and/or supervises the New York State Education Department mandated trainings for school bus drivers, monitors and attendants throughout New York State.  Assists with providing behind-the-wheel training, additionally, updating/maintaining 19-A files for school bus drivers for DMV audits.  Assists with conducting training programs for school officials, supervisors, and employees regarding drug and alcohol testing policies and procedures. May be required to occasionally operate a commercial motor vehicle. May be required to perform drug and/or alcohol collections for BOCES’ clients. Some evening hours may be required but additional compensation is provided for these sessions.

LOCATION: Jefferson Lewis BOCES Practical Nursing Simulation Lab and Samaritan Medical Center locations.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $45.00 per hour

STARTING DATE: As soon as possible

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Provide clinical nursing instruction to adult students at various healthcare facilities. Provide lab instruction via hands-on and simulation to same students.  Ability to deploy simulation-based instruction subsequent to in-service training sessions.

LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES with initial assignment at component districts throughout Jefferson County

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $19,635 -$20,009 Commensurate with experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the CSEA. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Assist teacher with classroom duties-correcting of papers, maintaining files, preparing reports;
  • Assists in physical care tasks and health-related activities as appropriate:
  • Supervises students – accompanying to mainstream classroom settings, lunch, bus duties;
  • Assists students with behavioral management needs;
  • Assists with classroom set-up, clean-up, and organization;
  • Other duties as directed by classroom teacher

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Provide speech therapy services to students with disabilities as specified in Individual Education Plans and speech improvement services to non-disabled students.

TITLE: School Psychologist – Anticipated Itinerant Opening

LOCATION: Jefferson Lewis BOCES, Watertown, New York with possible assignment between two component districts.                 

SALARY: Starting at $60,532. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the BOCES Professional Association. Health insurance which includes vision & prescription coverage, NYS Retirement membership, tax deferred annuities, employee assistance program, and generous sick and personal day policies

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of educators to provide services to students. Duties include:

  • Psychological evaluations, IEP development, group and individual counseling, and consultation with parents and faculty
  • Participate in district’s Response to Intervention and Committee on Special Education in making decisions that are in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

LOCATION: Itinerant Assignment:  This is an itinerant assignment serving the school districts within Jefferson & Lewis Counties.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: The Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing provides specialized instruction to K-12 students who have a hearing disability.  Services include direct instruction, consultation, and co-teaching as appropriate.  Preferred candidates will possess solid interpreting skills.

DUTIES: This is routine and repetitive physical work involving the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and related tasks.  Cleaning tasks are performed according to a well-established procedure.  The work is performed under the supervision of an immediate supervisor.  The incumbent does related work as required.
